Abstract

It is argued that the discussions about intelligence tests reflect three different value systems. Equality value insists on that people get social success only because of their own efforts and not by the privilege of birth. At the same time scientific research shows that intelligence is highly heritable and is of a huge importance for social success. The value of practical help also sometimes contradicts both scientist and equality values when the use of intelligence tests is considered.
